Practice with Brain Dumping:
Brain Dump on Problem statement:
Red marks indicate favorite 4 ideas
With partner, we took our 4 favorite ideas and worked 3 mash-up ideas by creating combinations of our ideas.
We also created fictional constraints and worked through some processing given those parameters.
ORGANIZATION: Next, we created axis of organization for versions of our top 2 favorite ideas to see where this would go and where these ideas. We also talked through some scenarios to see where on the spectrums these ideas might fall
Conclusion:
The Holographic interactive museum and theater experience for children and folks of all ages was our top choice in the end. We wanted our solution to be as imaginative and "awesome" as possible, and thought that a digital holographic projection of the analog idea we had at first would be more cost efficient, and simpler to edit or change over time. We were excited about bringing a modern touch to a classic atmosphere and the hybrid environment it could potentially create. We didn't want to take away from the aesthetic of the historical stie, but also felt like it was important to find a creative and modern way for children to engage with the space.
The concept is essentially "statue" like characters made of a hologram in certain areas of Union station that would come to life when interacted with. It would act as a person and look as a person, telling a story about Union station, and send the user on quests to get more information to continue the story by visiting another holographic character. The classic and timeless aesthetic would be conserved by the characters themselves, who would (apart from being holograms) look the part of old-timey Denver and Union Station itself.
